Is there anyway to change the instance ID of a component in solidworks?

Thanks

Matthew

RE: INSTANCE ID

I have not asked the question since SW2001+, but the answer from SW back then was no.

RE: INSTANCE ID

As far as I know, that information is hard-coded into the document and is not accessible.

cheers

RE: INSTANCE ID

Out of curiosity, why do you want to change it?

Eric

RE: INSTANCE ID

If you want to change the order of components in your BOM... that's controlled by the order of the components in your assembly "tree"... if your BOM is set to FOLLOW ASSEMBLY ORDER.
