Diameter Dimension on Revolve

Diameter Dimension on Revolve

I want to use the revolve command to create a shaft with 2 snap ring grooves. To do this I sketch half of a profile of the shaft and revolve it around a centerline. When I dimension the sketch is there a way to create a diameter dimension rather than just a radius dimension? Can I do this in the sketch mode or does this need to be done after the part has been created?

RE: Diameter Dimension on Revolve

In the Sketch Mode ...

Activate the dimension tool.
Select the line representing the diameter and the centreline.
Position the cursor on the far side of the centreline and click to place the dimension.

cheers

Thanks a lot. That's just what I needed.
