Are you familiar with the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, and boiler fundamentals?

yes! fundamentals, but not code.

You should read up.

There are several different types of "boilers" in the eyes of ASME.  Some can be built to Section I others to Section VIII.

Also, be aware that your local jurisdiction may supplement ASME requirements.
