Hi All,
Background)
For set-on nozzles and "T" joints, the following condition shall apply to the material of the Header;
-The plates material to be welded with "T" joint shall be meet ASTM A770 S3(with a minimum area reduction of 35%) or EN10164(Quality Class Z35).
 
Marerial ; A516 -70, A240-316L, A240-S31803

EN10164( one of international standard) is say in scope as bellows;
  1. SCOPE
  This  documents specifies through thick properties and associated test methods for flat products and section of steel.
  
  This documents may be applied as a supplement to all product standards for flat products and sections of fully killed steel, except stainless steel. Its cover products having a thickness between 15 mm and 400 mm inclusive of steel with a specfied ~~~~.

However, A770 is not clear in scope.
 
Question)Can be applied Through Thickness tension test for all kind of material(A240-316L, A240-S31803) per ASTM A770?
