Note Attributes and syntax

Note Attributes and syntax

Note Attributes and syntax

(OP)
Hi,
I'm new to pro/e and I've been working on editing some notes on drawings. I've notice different characters that obviously format the text/paragraph differently when inserted. This is one specific note pulled from the note properties dialog box:

{0:NOTES:} * 1) SURFACES TO BE CONCENTRIC
             WITHIN .005 T.I.R. WITH
{3:             SURFACE}{4: }{5:-A-}

Can someone please explain these special formats and brackets to me and/or point me to a reference for all of that functionality? I don't have access to PTC's website yet. Thanks for any help you can provide.

RE: Note Attributes and syntax

The {#: } syntax tells Pro/E to apply different format properties to that piece of text in the 1 note.

"Wildfires are dangerous, hard to control, and economically catastrophic."

Help
  Detailing
    Pro/Detail
      Dimensioning and Detailing Your Models
        Detailing with Non-Dimension Items
          Text and Notes
            Modifying Note Text
              Text Strings

Or, Global Search
     Select Functional Areas:  Detailing
Search For: "text strings" (with the dbl quotes)

should get you started.

It will probably (did me) some experimentation to get familiar
with it.  Select a multi line note then click again on one line
of the note, RMB, Text Style - will automatically set that line
in {} braces.  Special characters are normally inserted using
the Text Symbol pallet that's associated with any text entry
function instead of using ^A, ^B.

Thanks Jeff, that is exactly what I was looking for.
