Need comments on Aero-tech books?

Need comments on Aero-tech books?

(OP)
Hi All,  I have Bruhn, Roark, Peery, Hoerner etc but still need guidance and references for some hand calc structural issues from time-to-time.  From variuos forums on Eng-tips  I see suggestions for Niu, Flabel and Megson for structures to add to my library.  I'd like your astute comments for my dilemma.  Basically hand-calc methods since I do not have NASTRAN, Ansys etc available. BTW I usually get good service and prices thru Alibris bookseller. Thanks JQC

Arto, Thanks for providing this great link to the Marshall site and especially this doc.  I've downloaded some stuff that will be very useful and I'll hold off spending $$ for anymore text books for now.  Thanks again-JQC

RE: Need comments on Aero-tech books?

I would still invest in Niu's airframe book. And Roark, of course.

RE: Need comments on Aero-tech books?

Arto,

Thank you for the wonderful reference link!!

RE: Need comments on Aero-tech books?

Flabel's book also would work as a hand-calculation reference.  Even the FBD's are hand drawn!  By a good classic draughtsman, too.  I like the layout, but I don't need to use it much 'cause I've used Bruhn for too long.

But it would be a LOT easier to start learning with a book like Flabel's, and only then move to Bruhn's or Niu's more in-depth treatments of some topics.  But my college prof didn't agree...
