Need to make a subassembly with current parts

Need to make a subassembly with current parts

Is there a way to make an assembly and "drag" the contents from the top level assembly to the sub and keep the constraints?  I have an assembly with everything constrained and now I need to take a few of the pieces "15 or so" and move them into there own assembly.  I know how to do this by making a new assembly and doing the assembly process again from scratch, but I would like to just drag all the parts as one into the assembly.  I know SolidWorks can do this but I can't seem to get solid edge to work.  I will keep trying but any help would be great.

RE: Need to make a subassembly with current parts

Hi,

you can use the 'Transfer' function to move the parts in
question to a new subassembly. Not all constraints will be
preserved, however.
