On obtaining PE

On obtaining PE

On obtaining PE

(OP)
I have A MASc in Civil Engineering and in process of obtaining my PhD from Canada and I am already registered Professional Engineer in Ontario. I am willing to get PE from Texas . Does anyone have this state before . What do they require from me to get PE

RE: On obtaining PE

Since you have Canadian credentials, you should contact the Texas State Board to determine what exactly they will require.

Texas was my first state PE license and they require today what most US states require:  4 years accredited degree, an 8 hour Fundamentals exam (EIT), 4 years experience under a PE, and an 8 hour PE exam.

RE: On obtaining PE

As I recall, Texas also requires  a life summary of every job you had every had plus a large number of professional references ( and from every job ), more than any other state I had applied to. Obtaining a reference from a job I had 30 yrs ago was difficult, as teh company was sold to another company and all of my supervisors etc were 6 feet under.
