Lifting of Spiral Tower

Lifting of Spiral Tower

Lifting of Spiral Tower

(OP)
We have to lift Spiral Tower Structure (used for handling of Baggage at the Airports), which is in a D shape, 16 f33t long 9 feet wide and 8 feet high to a Conveyor Line which is 10 feet high.

Can anyone help me in giving the idea how to handle it.

Further details can be provided.

Thanks in advance

RE: Lifting of Spiral Tower

Hi Kaleem546,

When lifting large structures, you need to employ a spreader. This is a fabricated frame, that allows you to apply lift to various parts of the structure, so as to minimise distortion of the structure.

You really need to get someone with experience to design the frame, as it should allow all forces acting on the structure to be in the vertical plane. All the lateral forces need to be absorbed by the spreader frame.

I hope this helps a little.

Pete.
