Hydrotest in fully corroded condition??

Hydrotest in fully corroded condition??

Hydrotest in fully corroded condition??

(OP)
Hi friends,
what does it mean the hydrotest in fully corroded condition? what is its difference with other types? how many types of hydrotest we have?
thanks a lot

RE: Hydrotest in fully corroded condition??

It means that the pressure vessel design shall include the external loads associated with the equipment hydro test in fully erected condition, except that the process piping is blinded off at the vessel nozzles, hence no piping loads on nozzles. It also means that the vessel must withstand the above loads with the corrosion allowance fully consumend, close to the minimum design thickness. The testing of a new vessel may include the hydro test in the fabricator's workshop, before the site erection, hence the test is called hydrotest of new and cold vessel, where the vessel components thickness includes corrosion allowance. Please also read carefully the Clause UG 99 of the ASME VIII Div.1.
