sheet metal split body into parts

(OP)
after constucting a sheet metal body and realising it can't be unfolded from one piece of metal how can it be split?

RE: sheet metal split body into parts

Create a curve or plane to reference where you want to split the model. Create a cut referencing this which splits the body as required. Add this cut feature to a family table. Suppress the cut feature, and then add a new cut feature to split the model the other way, and add this feature to the family table. Now create two instances, one which has Y N to the cut features, one which has N Y to the cut features.
