Banded Tendons Perpendicular to Pour Strip

Banded Tendons Perpendicular to Pour Strip

Banded Tendons Perpendicular to Pour Strip

(OP)
I am dealing with a PT flat plate, 28' wide bay, 3' wide pour strip at quarter point of bay.  Banded tendons run perpendicular to the pour strip and will terminate on each side of pour strip, anchored at center of slab.  Will specify that longer slab be shored at pour strip.

1)  Are there any special problems associated with banded tendons perpendicular to pour strip that I should be aware of?

2)  Are the tendons for the short slab typically kept at slab mid-depth all the way to column line, or raised to top of slab at that point to maximize drape for the adjacent span?

3)   Do you typically do a separate computer run for the structure on both sides of pour strip for the temporary condition prior to filling in the pour strip?

RE: Banded Tendons Perpendicular to Pour Strip

I assume that you mean a pour strip that will remain open for a period of time. Either the area remains shored until the pour strip is completed or you must do an analysis for the initial condition and the final condition.

You will need mild reinforcement to tie the building back together. Be sure that you have enough width to lap the reinf.
