Cooling system orifice sizing calculation

Cooling system orifice sizing calculation

Cooling system orifice sizing calculation

(OP)
Hello all!

I have done some searching for some formulas or general guidlelines on orifice sizing in cooling systems and have come up short.

I will be needing to size several orifices in a large marine application. I plan to use plate style st.st. orifices. Flows from 20m3/hr to 270m3/hr and pipes from 2" to 8".

Any suggestions?

Thanks. Great Forum.

RE: Cooling system orifice sizing calculation

Do you want to use the orifices for flow measurement, or for flow restriction? You may find that you will get more response in the piping and fluid mechanics forum.

Thanks Katmar.

I want to restrict flow. I will try on the other forum.

Cheers!
