Road Parallel to 10" Gas Pipeline
Road Parallel to 10" Gas Pipeline
(OP)
Would you please help me on following issue, I need some advises.
My client asked me to build a road 6.5 width to Gas Metering & Regulating Station inside Gas pipeline right of way limits, (25 meter width), it's mean parallel just for 200meter length. my concern is ; I want to know is it practical to proceed with this idea? if we will see to safety aspect. I believe there is a required distance need to be respected between Gas pipeline and roads as per international codes and standards to avoid any hazards.
I want to know minimum distances need to be applied or Standard Codes stated that we can or not inside pipeline right of way.
Can you please advice me which it will be safe way to build this road according to American or British codes. Your help will be highly appreciated.

RE: Road Parallel to 10" Gas Pipeline
Suggest you contact the pipeline owner to see what their requirements are for access roads. I surprised that your client did not furnish this information.
Additionally, you may wish to contact a local geotechnical consultant for guidance on typical practice.
