Projected Sketch problems

Projected Sketch problems

Projected Sketch problems

(OP)
Hi, I want to project a sketch onto a surface, but for some reason only a single curve at a time can be used with the 'projected curve' option. I need to project a complex 2D drawing, and 'spline on surface' would take too long...is there another way?

Thanks!

RE: Projected Sketch problems

You can surface extrude the 2D sketch with an up to surface end condition to the surface you want it projected on, then convert the edges that are on the surface into a 3D sketch.

Or you can go thru all with the surface extruded 2D sketch, and use the intersect curve command.

Wow thanks that 'intersect curve' command is exactly what I've been looking for for ages now, I can't believe it actually exists! The amount of times I've wanted to use something like that and not known how to do it... usually I end up using 'spline on surface' or some other crazy method

Thanks!
