Generator Rotor Slot Insulation Damage

Generator Rotor Slot Insulation Damage

Generator Rotor Slot Insulation Damage

(OP)
We have recently come across some cracking of our epoxy/glass/nomex winding slot liner/insulation about 2" beyond the core out in the area normally covered by end caps.  Does anyone out there have any experience with doing local repairs to the cracked insulation to avoid having to remove the winding and replace the entire slot liner which runs the entire length of the rotor?

RE: Generator Rotor Slot Insulation Damage

You might want to contact a generator repair company.

Generator repair company is here already.  They are dispositioning, however, I wanted to see if anyone had any previous experience.

Contact another company for second opinion (unless the onsite company is a division of the one I work for, MD&A)
