How can relate CBR with bearing capacity?

How can relate CBR with bearing capacity?

How can relate CBR with bearing capacity?

(OP)
Hi friends,
I'm just curious to know that how can we relate the CBR value with the bearing capacity of soil or it has any formula to convert the result.
Thank
intania

RE: How can relate CBR with bearing capacity?

If you have the

A soil primer
PCA

by reading corresponding values you may easily build fitting formulations from one to the other in Mathcad. There's a variety of fitting formulations and one or other should serve well the technical purpose.

You can choose any other source for the corresponding data.

RE: How can relate CBR with bearing capacity?

There are relations but they may be dangerous to apply as CBR was developed for pavements not structures. CBR values are specifically not good to use on sandy soils because pad footings tend to confine sands while the CBR does not. Confinement boosts bearing capacity.

Better to use standard penetration test results (SPT)
