problems updating a draft sheet

problems updating a draft sheet

problems updating a draft sheet

(OP)
I have a draft sheet that has 3 views of my layout on it.  Solid edge let me create the sheet with the view rather quickly.  Now i have changed a detail on the assembly model and i go back into the draft sheet to update the draft sheet. It won't updat the draft sheet it either takes forever or it leaves part of the view out.  I can go and take that new updated assembly model and make a new draft sheet with 3 new udated views no problem.  Why will it let me make a new sheet of the assembly but it won't update the current sheet i have.  I don't want to make a new sheet everytime i want to update my layout. Thanks
Jeff

RE: problems updating a draft sheet

I have had this problem and the fix I found is to go into the assembly and under "Tools>Update>All links" pick on update all links and force it to update. This has fixed any problems I've had between the assembly and the draft.

Hope that helps.
Jamie

RE: problems updating a draft sheet

Saving and closing the assembly before you go to the draft may also fix it.  For some reason toggling between windows the draft doesn't always keep up with changes in the model so you either save and close or manually update links.

I'm not totally sure this is the problem but it's worth a try.

RE: problems updating a draft sheet

Hi,

when you change a part of an assembly by 'Edit' and come
back to the assembly always do an Alt+U (this has been
addressed by fun4sparkie) otherwise the odds are that the change
is not propagated to the assembly and therefore the draft
will not update. A save of the assembly will have the same effect and is recommended
Remember that all changes will update the part(s) when the assembly
is saved or when the part itself is saved before 'Close and return'
