Radio presenter that I think may have made a mistake

Radio presenter that I think may have made a mistake

Radio presenter that I think may have made a mistake

(OP)
Just an interesting way to use the English language that I heard while driving home a few years ago. Thought it might bring a smile to someone's day....

'When it comes to the political aims of the ***** Party, you cannot ignore Ireland's unpredictable past.'

I have since that day always wondered whether those who try to predict the past should be allowed into politics in the first place.....it all seems a bit pointless.

Enjoy

RE: Radio presenter that I think may have made a mistake

Reminds me of an old Dilbert strip where Dilbert is asked to predict onforseen problems so they can be included in some plan.

RE: Radio presenter that I think may have made a mistake

Uhhh, "those who cannot predict the past are doomed to pre-peat it"...?

Regards,

Mike

RE: Radio presenter that I think may have made a mistake

Probably would have been more proper, and understandable, to say unforeseen, unbeknownst, or unpreventable.

RE: Radio presenter that I think may have made a mistake

Ireland's history of events that right up until they happened had been unpredictable.  Works for me.

RE: Radio presenter that I think may have made a mistake

It might be logical, but I got a chuckle out of it nevertheless.

SnTMan - yes, that's what I was thinking too.

RE: Radio presenter that I think may have made a mistake

I'm not saying they actually *used* the logic I did.  They probably really meant something like "erratic".
