Setting Center Point for Spaceball

Setting Center Point for Spaceball

Setting Center Point for Spaceball

(OP)
I recently read thread559-175336 about how to set the center point for rotation when using a Spaceball. I took it a step further and mapped the "Sets Center Point" command to a button on my Spaceball (4000 FLX) so I could just select a point with my mouse and hit a button on my Spaceball with my thumb and move on. It worked well for a few days and now the button does not work. I remapped the command to the button and even tried other buttons but I can't get it to work again. Has anyone else run into this?

Thanks,
Dblcrona

RE: Setting Center Point for Spaceball

I got the nice cheap SpaceNavigator just a few days ago, and mapped the "Set Center Point" to one of the two buttons.  I've found that if I select a point with that, I need to turn off the "Set Center Point" before selecting a new point, I can't just jump from one point to another.  I don't know if that's how it's supposed to work, but it seems reasonable enough.

RE: Setting Center Point for Spaceball

If you use the "set center point" button on the toolbar, you have to deselect/reselect to change to a new point. So, it makes sense that you'd have to do the same thing if you map to a button on your controller.
