parts list file names

parts list file names

(OP)
I'm on NX2 and need to set up a quick parts list. When I add a parts list the default columns are callout, part name (component name in the assembly navigator), and quantity. What I would like to do is add a column for the file name (descriptive part name in the assembly navigator). I have successfully added a blank column but cannot figure out how to populate it with the file names. The help files don't cover it.

RE: parts list file names

Once you've got the Column created select it so that the entire column is highlighted, then place your cursor over one of the highlighted lines and press MB3 and select 'Style' and then the tab labled 'Columns' and then select the icon on the right of the entry field labled 'Attribute Name'.  You will now have a complete list of all of the file attributes available to you that you can have displayed in that column.  The items preceeded by an '$' are system generated attibutes and the rest are user defined.  Just pick the one you want.
