Environmental Lay Up Conditions for RFI

Environmental Lay Up Conditions for RFI

(OP)
Morning All ,

I was wondering if anyone had any experience of fabricating aerospace structural compoistes by RFI ( actually a type of VARTM ).

This is a departure for us from traditional pre-preg manufacture and I was wondering how the environmental requirments ( clean room / environmentally monitored area ) differ , if at all , for the two processes ?

I am particulalry concerned by the use of the dry fabric preform . Note : the pre-preg and RFI applications do not share the same work space and are stand alone processes in their own facilities .

I appreciate that you may respond by suggesting I work to Customer requirments but unfortunately they are being none too clear about this so far . If anyone has previous experience that they would be willing to share then that would be appreciated .

Thanks
