Piezoelectric plgate

Piezoelectric plgate

(OP)
Hi,

I have a piezoelectric problem I'm trying to solve.

I have a square plate on which I am applying oscillating forces. I defined the electrodes to be the top and bottom of the plate, and the bottom electrode is set to 0 Volt. So far, I can plot the electric potential of the top electrode vs. time. I want to know the current and voltage that is driven across a resistor connected to the top and bottom electrodes. When I define a resistor, and make the connection between a top and bottom node, I get the following error message:

"There are circuit elements and piezoelectric elements in the model. They both use VOLT degrees of freedom but the respective formulations are not compatible. The analysis is not valid."

I want to plot current and voltage across the resistor vs. time. How do I set this up?

I'm an Ansys beginner, so I appreciate any help.

Thanks,
Greg
