i am using SE V19. i am looking for a way to save a draft file that will not update with the model. like saving an old version of the file that is no longer linked to the model. is this possible thanks in advance.

RE: break link from drawing to model

If you right click on the view do you have to option to "convert to 2D view"?

I'm still V18 so can't be sure.

RE: break link from drawing to model

Hi,

not to loose your original drawing: save it as .tif. This is
quite small when compressed, can't be changed and thus may be
used as an archive copy. Many I know including myself work
this way.

PDF is the other option.  There are free Acrobat Distillers out there, the downside is you get a pop up advert every time you use it but can be useful.

thanks for the responses everyone. we have decided to go with the pdf solution. it seems to be the fastest and cheapest.
