Adding smooth font in Cadkey 99
Adding smooth font in Cadkey 99
(OP)
Hello,
I'm loading Cadkey 99 back into my machine since upgrading to Win XP and it's been about 2-1/2 years since I've done this and I don't remember how to make Cadkey use the smooth font instead of the box font. I would like the smooth font to be the default.
Thanks,
Kyle

RE: Adding smooth font in Cadkey 99
Our company has a TON of drawings in CadKey 97. We now use Pro-E Wilfire 2.0. Recently we've had to revisit some of these older drawings, and we can't do anything with them. Does anyone know of a way to convert them to Pro-E or at least view them where they can be printed out?
Sincerely,
A desperate woman in distress....

Find the file named sfnt1.fnt in the Cadkey99/English folder and rename it to whatever you want for archival purposes since you may want to restore the original functionality. Then find the smooth.fnt file in this folder and rename it to be sfnt1.fnt. You might want to make a copy of the smooth.fnt file somewhere else to archive it as well.
If you want the CK font description to accurately report "Smooth", then open the menus.txt file (also in the "English" folder) with "your favorite text editor", scroll down about 2/3 of the way to Menu 3943 and change the word "Box" to "Smooth". Save the file and relaunch Cadkey.

Thanks for the reply. It turns out I had a renaming error when I was swapping in the smooth font. My memory was a little fuzzy since it had been a few years since I had to reinstall Cadkey. Thanks again for your help though.
