AC-DC converters

AC-DC converters

(OP)
Hi!

We need a AC/DC converter, to feed 8 DC motors, 125Vdc - 2 kW each one, from an input of 480Vac. Does anybody know a supplier of this type of AC/DC converters?.

I have found just pc and low voltages converters or low power (12 kW maximum). ¿How much could this cost?

Sorry, if it's a silly question, but i don't know much about rectifiers, suppliers, mosfets, etc. (well, i guess you have noticed it)

Thanks!

JuanMC

Google "DC Drive" (in quotes as shown)

RE: AC-DC converters

In the old days we would have may used a rotary converter. Looks like a motor with slip rings on one end and brushes on the other. I doubt if they are made anymore with all the power electronics that are available.
