Gate Valve Help

Gate Valve Help

(OP)
I'm trying to find information on a gate valve I've used in the past.  What I remember of the valve is that it had either a coarser thread, or double thread that allowed the stem/gate to close or open twice as a fast as a normal threaded valve.  Does anyone know the type of valve I'm talking about?  Sites to visit that sell these type of valves for industrial use 6" to 18"???  I've tried searching the web for this type and haven't come back with anything.  Thanks.

RE: Gate Valve Help

It sounds like you need a double lead acme thread stem.  try www.indvalve.com for a replacement.

RE: Gate Valve Help

You are probably talking about a double lead thread on valve stem.

Thank you both.  I think that it maybe what I'm looking for.

RE: Gate Valve Help

FYI, There are Gate Valves with four leads which close even faster and "Quick Opening" Gate Valves (Harder to find) which open in one stroke.
