Wave kinematics - Morrison equation

Wave kinematics - Morrison equation

Wave kinematics - Morrison equation

(OP)
In order to apply Morrison's equation for calculation of wave load on an offshore jacket, I would like to calculate wave kinematics i.e. water particle velocities, surface elevation and acceleration using the fifth (5th) order Stokes wave theory as API RP2A recommends.
I've managed to find the solution (calculate wave length L) and the equations for velocities and surface elevation and the coefficients involved (Aij, Bij), but cannot find acceleration equations (Du/Dt=ax, Dw/Dt=az).
1. Could you help on finding these equations?
2. It would be very helpful also if you provide a site or a paper with a simplified example in order to evaluate my calculations.

Thank you in advance

RE: Wave kinematics - Morrison equation

5th order stokes theory is very difficult and time consuming to do manually. It is usually done by computer software.  In my experience the only wave theory people tend to do manually is stokes 1st order, otherwise known as linear or airy wave theory.

Basically, to get your wave particle accelerations and velocities you need to go back to first principles.  The legwork will probably have been done in textbooks and give formulae for vertical and horizontal components.  These will be dependent on the properties of your design wave, and the wave phase.

Morrison Equation Coeeficients

Does anbody have a link I could access with details of the CD and CM coefficients used in Morrisons Equation. I am looking to assess some offshore structure loads.

Thanks

Any help would be most appreciated
