Change Mate Distance

Change Mate Distance

Change Mate Distance

(OP)
Ok, so far I'm learning Solid Works by teaching myself. Right now that's my only option until I can get some training. I have figured out how to assemble components in an assembly but not how to change the mate properties after I have assembled them. For instance I mated two plates and specified a distance between their faces. Now I want to change this dimension but I can't figure out how without deleting the one plate and re-inserting it. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Ken Johnson

RE: Change Mate Distance

In the Feature Manager, you'll see a 'Mates' folder. Simply RMB on the mate and choose edit. Depending on what version of SW you're using, there will be a 'Mates' folder under each part as well.

RE: Change Mate Distance

Just double click on the mate and the distance dimension should appear on screen, then double click the dimension and change it.

... or RMB click on the mate and select Edit Feature

cheers
