Solidworks 2007 SP2.2 Upgrade

Solidworks 2007 SP2.2 Upgrade

(OP)
We have just upgraded from SW06 SP4 to SW07 SP2.2

We have the following setup and are experiencing severe graphics problems and regular system slow downs

Pentium 4 CPU - 3.6 Ghz
4Mb RAM
Nvidia Quadro FX 3400
XP Professional 2002 SP 2
On Network Windows 2003 (100 Mbit Line)

Is anyone else experiancing these slow down problems?

RE: Solidworks 2007 SP2.2 Upgrade

Check to make sure you're using the proper driver for your graphics card.

RE: Solidworks 2007 SP2.2 Upgrade

Did you upgrade or new install? Always do new install.
Did you disable the anti-virus when installing?
Did you update the video card driver for SW07?

cheers

RE: Solidworks 2007 SP2.2 Upgrade

As CBL stated, you should always do a new install when going from one version to the next. It should actually be a 'clean' install which entails cleaning the registry as well.

Due to company policy we have to let IT Dept load the upgrade, but I do know it was a new install.  However, I'm not sure whether the anti-virus software was disabled.  With reference to the grahics card driver, I'm sure we need to download the latest driver from the solidworks website.  IT are off site as it happens, so I will get it done tomorrow.

Thanks for the advice JMrisola & CorBlimeyLimey

RE: Solidworks 2007 SP2.2 Upgrade

These are issues that don't normally matter quite so much in other applications, so it can be difficult to get the IT guys to give the extra diligence/attention to the SolidWorks stuff--but always necessary for acceptable performance.
