RE: Belt Conveyor Calculations

websearch for "Smart Motion Cheat Sheet" PDF file, freely downloadable.

Go to gearmotor manufacturer websites and get their technical manuals on how to size their gearmotors.  Those docs will have formulas and examples.  Some companies even have online sizing calculator programs that you can use.

RE: Belt Conveyor Calculations

This web page will give an indication of belt conveyor sizing and power requirement.

If you also want to use the conveyor to 'throw' the discharging material then this is a function of belt speed.  I suggest this is checked with conveyor design handbooks published by CEMA in the USA or MHEA in the UK.
