max. air velocity

max. air velocity

(OP)
LS,

From an industrial production area, an air flow of 5000 m3/h is extracted with an extractor fan. The air temperature is approx 60-80°C. Due to limited space, we would like to increase the velocity (smaller diameter) of the air. What will be a maximum allowable air velocity in an air duct?

Thanks, DYV

RE: max. air velocity

Inquiry is posted in the incorrect forum

Your velocity will also depend on your application--
Are you exhausting to atmosphere??
Are you exhausting to a space ??
Are you transferring air ??
Are you conveying particulants / duct / etc. ??
Is this for personnel comfort ??
Are you removing / ventilating heat load ??
Are you ducting to a scrubber ??

Recommend reviewing "Industrial Ventilation -- A Manual of Recommended Practice" by the Amewrican Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists.
