Can anybody tell me if I can create a pwm signal using a slc 505.

RE: PWM, From a allen bradley slc 505

Sure, but not a very fast one! With a program scan time of .9ms / kWords and an I/O scan time of .225ms, (let alone your output reaction time, whatever your output device is) your smallest pulse width is going to be pretty wide compared to what people usually think of as a PWM signal.

What are you trying to do?

I am trying to provide a pwm signal to control a servo valve on a hyd. brake system. I want to use a slc 505 to control other aspects of the project. I am using a 12 vdc power supply and need a pwm of about 6 vdc.

RE: PWM, From a allen bradley slc 505

No, you can't do that with the PLC I/O directly. You need a PWN signal generator board that can take an analog signal from an analog output of your PLC and create the proper PWM signature to do what you want with the servo valve.

Something like this;

I need to write a program into a allen bradley slc 505.

I will be colecting data on pressure,temp,and current.

I will then need to transfer this data to a server.

Can anybody give me advice on the best way to do this.

Probably best if you didn't hijack another thread. Start your own in the PLC forum.
