FEATURE CONTROL FRAME FOR COMPOSTE POSITIONAL TOLERANCING

FEATURE CONTROL FRAME FOR COMPOSTE POSITIONAL TOLERANCING

(OP)
Hi all,
Does anyone know how to double the feature control frame in geometric tolerancing to apply a composite positional tolerance. The double height frame needs to be attached to a single geometric characteristic symbol so I cant just add another frame. Thanks

RE: FEATURE CONTROL FRAME FOR COMPOSTE POSITIONAL TOLERANCING

If your in 2006 there's a check box withing the dialog box

Sorry to mention I'm on SW2005 sp5. Thanks

It should be pretty much the same. Try and look around in the dialog box. There might be tabs along the top or something.

It been like that since I think 01... just need to start the next line and you will get a double frame.

Thanks for the suggestions.
While I can add another feature control frame, it also adds (or prompts to add) another geometric characteristic symbol which is incorrect. The proper spec is a single symbol straddling the dual frames. Cant seem to get that.:/

RE: FEATURE CONTROL FRAME FOR COMPOSTE POSITIONAL TOLERANCING

Add the same character symbol as the line above and see if an option pops up to make it composite. There's a check box called "Composite Frame" that is greyed out until you add a second line. The check box becomes available when you add a second line with the same symbol as the first line. Now if your trying add a composite symbol againist the ASME Y14.5 standard, it won't be available at all
