Spacer Cable Saggind Data

Spacer Cable Saggind Data

(OP)
Howdy,
I am looking for sagging information with regards to spacer cable, in this case Hendrix.  I normally use Sag 10 and PLS Cadd for transmission line design but have not had to design underbuild with Hendrix Spacer.  I assume I am mostly interested in the sag of the steel messenger, along with the short sags of the cable between the spacers, which is about 30'.
Is anyone aware of some sagging information, or calculations that are out there.  And yes, I have asked Hendrix and they are not having an easy time giving something usable.  Thanks in advance.

RE: Spacer Cable Saggind Data

Hendrix Catalog gives initial/installation sags for messengers.  Given whatever power conductor you are using you should be able to calculate the ice-loaded weight x 3 and develop an equivalent load/ft to apply to the messenger for the overall messenger sag.  PLS-Cadd or SAG 10 should allow you to increase the radial ice loading to develop an equivalent system.  The comment about short sag sections does not seem relevant as you need the overall messenger sag for the system based on the total weight supported.  Any other references I have would be in paper form.

RE: Spacer Cable Saggind Data

VT - I found my old Hendrix catalog and it includes the ice-loaded sags in Section B.  If you don't have access to it let me know and I'll forward the info you need.
