Calculations inside a Design Table

Calculations inside a Design Table

Calculations inside a Design Table

(OP)
I am trying to do some calculations inside of a design table but am having a hard time.

Example:  column g (user column) = column a + column b

How do I do this?

Thanks.

SolidWorks 2006 SP4.1

RE: Calculations inside a Design Table

You should do as you would do in Microsoft Excel.

 If you don't remmind do:

in the g collum cell x (where x equals row number), write:

=$ax+$bx

This will do: g1 = a1 + b1

Tell me if it's what you were wanting.

 See Ya.

RE: Calculations inside a Design Table

Design tables in SolidWorks are Excel files. You add formula the same as you would in Excel. Look in Excel help for formulas.

I figured it out right after I posted, go figure!!

The cells were formatted as text and not general.

I did get it to work.  Thanks for the quick replies!!

RE: Calculations inside a Design Table

Quick and easy:  pick a cell in your equation column.  Type "=" click on one of the columns you're adding, type "+" then click on the other column you're adding, and hit enter.  Then copy and paste for all the other cells in the column.
