I am a Civil PE designing a solar array for a roof top application.  I am proposing a structural design that will end up being submitted to a Structural PE for approval.  My concept design includes using a commercially manufactured support system that incorporates either lag bolts or tek screws as the direct attachment to the existing support structure.  In my case it is a steel joist requiring a tek screw.  My problem is I don't know where to find the pull out values of tek screws.  

Can anyone tell me where to find a table that lists the pull out values of tek screws?

Also, are there any structural software packages at a reasonable price that will help me with this sort of proposal?

Look for other manufacturers as well, not just Tek.  Grabber is another big name, depending on where you are.  With several manufacturers you can get a better feel for the strength of a self-drilling self-tapping screw.  You may also find anomalies in test data, values that are very different from other manufacturers' values.  

If you are interested in specifying a non-proprietary screw, the AISI code has methods for calculating shear and pullout values.  

Make sure you look for pullover values also, or calculate them.  That is not the same as pullout.  You should also check the shear bearing for the steel strength and thickness you have.  Manufacturers will not always give these values, nor are they necessarily included in every screw value you can find.  Often they are, sometimes they are not.

If you are attaching to a steel joist, you should use a No. 12 screw with a no. 5 drilling point.  These are designed specificaly for attaching to structural steel, which is thicker than cold-formed light-gauge steel.
