Bleed off time from Hydraulic Cylinder to Tank
Bleed off time from Hydraulic Cylinder to Tank
(OP)
Hi,
Would anybody please clarify my query :
An Hydraulic Cylinder is pressurized to 120 bar by using shell tellus T-12.I would like to depressurize the hydraulic cylinder with bleed off time of about 10 secs to a atm. tank.Length of return pipe : 35m,Cylinder capacity : 4.5 ltrs. Can anybody tell how to size the return line.I mean what should be the return line size in terms of mm.
If data is sufficent,I will provide relevant datas.

RE: Bleed off time from Hydraulic Cylinder to Tank
I assume you want to release the pressure and move the fluid back into the reservoir. The force for that would come from perhaps a load that was lifted and came back down, or spring action, or a double-acting cylinder- but knowledge of that force would be required to size anything for fluid flow.
RE: Bleed off time from Hydraulic Cylinder to Tank
The fluid is fed to the hydraulic cylinder with a pressure of 120 bar and the hydraulic cylinder is coupled to do some wire line application. When the pressure drops to 80 bar, then the spring forces the fluid into the reservoir.
Based on the previous data,I would like to bleed off the fluid of about 10 secs. What shoule be the pipe size I should us in the return line to tank.
If you require more datas ,I will furnish for you.
