You can now use the wildcard * in your SolidWorks searches. Example; you know the number starts with 621 and you do not want all the parts to show up. Type in 621*.sldasm in the SolidWorks File name: text box.

RE: Wildcard * searching in SolidWorks

I'm glad the Solidworks Search function works for you because I'm afraid to use that thing.  I only use the search function if I'm in the mood to freeze or crash SW.

The Wild Card * also works in the open SolidWorks dialog. That is really what I was trying to say.

RE: Wildcard * searching in SolidWorks

Bradley,

Excellent tip!! That is VERY useful for me. Since we've started using PDMWorks, my workspace has lots of files in one folder which makes finding what I want difficult. Star for you!

Craig,
Thanks for the Star. Now I am going to put in a enhancement request to make it happen in PDM.
