SOLIDWORKS - Cut-list Weight

SOLIDWORKS - Cut-list Weight

SOLIDWORKS - Cut-list Weight

(OP)
Hi,
I'm tryig to introduce the weight in a Cut-list, I could do this just assigning the Mass manually on each cut-list part.

I've tried to create a Weight property in the Structural Member sketch and assign value ("SW-Mass@Part1") like I've done in my part templates, but when I create a weldment part and insert that Structural Member in my Weldment I can't get the weight of each cut-list part, (surprise) in the properties of cut-list part appears the Mass of the entire part (all cut-list parts), but there I can select the Mass Value for each part and I obtain a code like ("SW-Mass@@@Cut-List-Item1@Part1"), but I have to do it manually, If I edit the sketch of my Structural Member again and introduce the value ( "SW-Mass@@@Cut-List-Item1@Part1") instead of ("SW-Mass@Part1") and actualize the weldment part, my surprise is that then appears the next code ("SW-Mass@Structural Member1@Part1.SLDPRT") and the evaluated value is wrong.

My question is, which code have I to write (in the sketch of my structural member) If I want to get the correct weight for each cut-list part in a weldment part?.

Thank you.

Quico,

If there is a way, we have not found it.  We manually set property.

Anyone knows about it?

Thank You

RE: SOLIDWORKS - Cut-list Weight

Quote (SW Help):

Cut-List-Items . Cut list items inherit custom properties from the profile sketch and from the weldment feature. You can assign new properties or you can edit existing properties. For example, you can add the property Weight, and link that property to the model's mass properties. Creating the link between the two enables the SolidWorks application to calculate the weight of the first solid body in the cut list item. The system also computes and adds the properties LENGTH, Angle1, and Angle2 for bodies generated by structural member features. The LENGTH, Angle1, and Angle2 properties are not editable.

Since the weight of only the first item in a Cut-List-Item folder is calculated, each Cut-List-Item folder should only include identical items.

CorBlimeyLimey,

You lost me CBL.

RE: SOLIDWORKS - Cut-list Weight

That's taken from the SW Help files. The red highlighting is mine.

I interpreted it as meaning that individual weights of the weldment members cannot be listed in the cut-list ... only the first item of the cut-list will be calculated.

However, I just did a quick test using properties assigned to the profile and it returned the total weight of all members for each cut-list item. So now I'm confused.

cheers

I will have to set it manually.

Thank you!!!

CBL,

OKay, so I am back to my original statement.
