Text Engrave in 5 axis

Hi All

I am New to this forum,

How to do the text engraving in NX4 by using the five axis operation.

Thanks in advance

RE: Text Engrave in 5 axis

The "Text Engrave" option is only supported by Fixed Contour.  To acomplish this task with variable contour you need curves that represent the text.  You can turn a note into curves by exporting the note using export CGM, make sure the note is the only thing on the screen.  Then use Import CGM and activate text to polylines.  Now you have curves that look like text.  You may need to project the curves or wrap them onto the faces depending on the amount of curvature on the faces. After all that you can create a variable contour operation and use Curve/point drive method.  Use the Local Lift at end to get the too to retract at the end of a curve.  Lots of work to get the geometry correct first.  Creating the tool path is the easy part.
