delta delta trans no ground voltage

delta delta trans no ground voltage

delta delta trans no ground voltage

(OP)
i need a answer for why a delta delta transformer did not give me a ground reading.the transformer was 600volt primary with a 480volt secondary.phases a,b=480v  a,c=480v  b,c=480v.phase a to ground=6v  phase b to ground=5v  phase c to ground=3v.why didn,t i get more voltage to ground.i know there is no ground on the transformer windings like a neutral in a wye style  but still there should have been  a ground through the building. yes/no/why

RE: delta delta trans no ground voltage

Your voltmeter had a very low impedance and grounded each phase in turn.

RE: delta delta trans no ground voltage

I agree with David.

RE: delta delta trans no ground voltage

A delta configuration has no connection to ground so the voltage to ground is completely arbitrary depending totally on the impedance of the measuring instrument and the leak resistance (usually Megaohms) and -capacitance. The reading could come out with anything between 0 and 480V.
