DESIGN PROFILE TO PLAN GRAPHICS IN EAGLE POINT

DESIGN PROFILE TO PLAN GRAPHICS IN EAGLE POINT

DESIGN PROFILE TO PLAN GRAPHICS IN EAGLE POINT

(OP)
Can anyone help me with this eagle point question. After making a ground profile from an existing conditions surface model, I then draw a design profile in the profile graphic. My problem is in taking this design profile and turning it into a 3D polyline in the plan view so I can make a new TIN, or surface model, to merge with the existing surface model and draw contour lines.

RE: DESIGN PROFILE TO PLAN GRAPHICS IN EAGLE POINT

These Software use only a 2d polyline for the design profile (atr least ´til 2004 version).

If You want a surface model for the finished ground, You will need to apply a template and then build the TIN (or surface model) as a new surface.

If You want to see the cut/fill slopes applied to the original ground surface model then You wil need to merge the finished ground model to the existing ground. You can merge both to a new surface model.

You will nedd to use the SURFACE MODELING module at the OUTPUT menu.

Luck!

Thanks Ramon,
You've got me going in the right direction but in the "extract cross section dialog box" in road calc, it asks for a surface to extract the cross section to along with the surface model to extract from. I uderstand the original surface model is where I extract from but which surface should I extract to? Thats just the begining of me sorting this program out. I'm sure i'll have more questions as I go through. Any help is very appreciated. thanks again, Mike
