Insert BOM to Template

Insert BOM to Template

Insert BOM to Template

(OP)
Hi all,

Does anyone know if it is possible to insert a SolidWorks BOM (not the Excel based one) into a drawing template? SW wold then automatically create a parts list when the assembly is inserted.

Thanks in advance.

RE: Insert BOM to Template

Not that I know of. The BOM has to reference an actual model (not even a pre-defined view) and once referenced will not allow the drawing to be saved as a template.

cheers

BandH,
What a great idea. You should submit an enhancement request for this. Don't know if SW can do it, but you never know....

RE: Insert BOM to Template

I have sent in an enhancement request several times for this in the past few years.
I have always wanted this added to the template.

Thanks guys,

I didn't think it was possible - I'll send in an enhancement request now.
