Select box - is there a limit to how many parts ?

Select box - is there a limit to how many parts ?

(OP)
Merry Christmas everyone,

I have a very large assembly (around 20,000 parts) for which I have to create drawings.
I'm trying to reduce the number of parts displayed by using the 'Select Visible Parts' command or a selection box.
The views are then saved as View Configs which are then to be placed on drawings.
The problem I'm having is that when I have all parts displayed the select visible parts or selection box does not select anything.
If I turn everything off and then turn on sub-assemblies in turn they work up to a point, but there seems to be a limit on how many parts it will select.
Has anyone else come across similar problems ?

Hello bc,

That's one big assembly. What version and update of SE are you running?

Solid Edge V19 SP1 on WinXP SP2
