graphics card and memory for AutoCAD

graphics card and memory for AutoCAD

(OP)
I am in the process of upgrading one workstation and building an identical second one for use mainly with AutoCAD 2007.  We do a lot of 3D modeling (many parts).  I am using a Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 with Core 2 Duo E6600.  I was wondering if anyone could tell me whether the extra money for a Quadro FX 3500 card is worth it vs the FX 1500 (nearly same memory bandwidth)?  The 3500 costs twice what the 1500 does.  Also, would 4GB RAM provide a noticeable performance boost over 2GB?

I had also been considering the ATI FireGL 7200 card, but the SpecViewPerf results look better for the Quadro cards than for similarly priced FireGL models.  I have not found any posted Cadalyst 2006 benchmarks anywhere that show performance in AutoCAD - can anyone point me to an archive?

Thanks in advance for any information!
