AutoCAD 2002 - Screening Lines
AutoCAD 2002 - Screening Lines
(OP)
I am a little embarrased to be asking what seems to be a simple question, but since we're brand new to AutoCAD 2002 (just upgraded from v14) I need help.
We do civil engineering drawings for site development and need to show our existing features (topo, buildings, ponds, etc) with a faded linetype. In v14 we applied a screen % in HPconfig with all colors set to plot as black. I have set our pen map up in the Plot Style Editor of 2002 and have set color control to plot all colors as black in the plot configuration setup, but cannot get the lines with screening values to plot as faded line types (we're using the Windows plotter driver as recommended by AutoCAD). I have exhausted all the help resources and manuals I have, so am turning to you guys (and ladies) for direction. Anyone have a suggestion?
Many thanks

RE: AutoCAD 2002 - Screening Lines
1.) open options menu and select the plot tab
2.) select add or edit plot style
3.) Select Add-A-Plot Style Table Wizard
4.) Select Next
5.) Select Start from scratch
6.) Select Color Dependent Plot Style Table >Next
7.) Give it a name of your choosing >Next
8.) Select Plot Style Table Editor,
This is Where you will set up your screening. The Screens are color dependent so, objects that you want screened, lets say 50% that are color 131 will be set by selecting color 131. Next you will notice on the right side of the page a screening textbox, set the screen to desired level (in this case 50%) Repeat this for each color you want to screen.
9.) Select save and close
10.) Select Finish
Now for each object or line that you want to screen you will need to asign the appropriate color.
Now When you are ready to plot under the plot device tab you will see plot style table name. Select the plot style table from the name you created. set the rest of your settings for your plot and plot.
Hope this helps

This is, of course, quite different from the color based system, but is quite easy to use once set up.
