Flat pattern disappears on sheet metal part

Flat pattern disappears on sheet metal part

Flat pattern disappears on sheet metal part

(OP)
Three times in the last week I have been working with sheet metal parts and at some point the flat pattern feature at the bottom of the feature tree disappears. I have not been able to determine if it is happening after I perform a specific function. Has anyone else had this happen, and is there anyway I can salvage these parts? I cannot find a way to re-insert a flat pattern feature. The only commands that are not grayed out on my sheet metal toolbar is "base flange" and "rip". I am running SW 2007 1.1

RE: Flat pattern disappears on sheet metal part

Take a look at your swxJRNL.swj file to see if you can determine what is causing the problem.

Maybe updating to SP2.1 will help.

cheers

RE: Flat pattern disappears on sheet metal part

Are you making a multi body part (for example a weldment) from your sheet metal design? because that will break sheet metal functionality.

No, it is not a multi body part. All the parts I have created are straight forward sheet metal parts that are not in-context to anything else. The only thing that came to my mind as a possible cause is that on every part I have had a problem with I used design library features. I do know, however, that if it was a design library issue, it does not happen all the time, because I have tried to get the flat pattern to disappear by recreating a part that it happened on, but so far, it will not happen when I try to make it happen. Very frustrating...
