Smart pigging through check valve

Smart pigging through check valve

Smart pigging through check valve

(OP)
Hi guys
Smart pigging through a check valve tends to affect the functioning of the sensors on the tool. Is there any check valves out there made suitable for smart pigs? From my limited knowledge API6D check valves could be used in normal piggable lines. Do we have any other option?

RE: Smart pigging through check valve

Put the check valves in sections of the lines that will not be pigged.  If you must have an in-line check valve, put the check valve into a parallel bypass with a full opening block valve and open the block when pigging ONLY, otherwise lock the block valve closed or something.

Use full opening swing checks, maybe with a rubber coated disc!

Mainline with bypassed check, for forward or reverse pigging, or if you don't like pigging through in check direction.

(sometimes this arrangement is also beneficial for surge pressures, for instance if the block was an automatic shut-down type)
