i would like to have an answer to my question.... i got duct with a size of 100mm and would like to know that how many cables of 4 core 16mm and 4 core 35mm can go thro this duct and what is the spacing shall i keep inside this upvc duct knowing that this ducts is under-raceway
thanx

RE: uPVC LV,MV Cable Duct

Where are you and is there more you can say about the installation because you may need bigger duct than code requires if you are running the duct a long ways or it has lots of bends or you are using certain kinds of wire.

More info will get you a better answer.

well thanx itsmoked for reply... im leading a project for infrastructural work and we are dealing with ducting upvc system and in our project specification we should use 100mm upvc duct.there are no bends ,ducts go straight along the raceway(under road crossing) and extend 0.5-1 meter a side inside walk way. cables are used for street lighting and traffic signals comming from the feeder pillar. type of cables is 4C+E XLPE  Cu sizes 16mm Sq. and 35 mm Sq.

thanx again for your help

RE: uPVC LV,MV Cable Duct

If you are leading a project, shouldn't you be able to do a fill calculation, it's only a bit of geometry?  With those sizes you probably aren't under the NEC, what does your code say about fill?  Once you know your usable cross-sectional area and the cross-sectional area of the cables, it becomes simple arithmetic.

ok. thanx it would be easier to have 1 cable with its earth wire to be in same duct taking into consideration future change of cables when needed.
thanx im satisfy
